(Prereq: MUSC A197 with grade of C or better) A continuation of and expansion on the techniques and materials presented in MUSC A197. Written and analytical applications of secondary leading-tone chords, diatonic common-chord modulations, advanced modulations, binary and ternary forms, mode mixture, Neapolitan chord, augmented sixth chords, and enharmonic modulations. Introduction to orchestration. Development of sight singing and ear training skills relative to course content. Application of functional keyboard skills appropriate to level of study. Computer-assisted instruction.
