(3 credits)(Restricted to students in the BFA for theatre program)(Prereq: THEA*364) The course explores the fundamental techniques of elevated text work. By studying the demands and conventions of classical plays, the actor will be challenged to apply learned techniques and, in addition, develop an approach to elevated text. Extensive text analysis, including examination of verse structure and scansion, will be used in combination with class exercises. Students will utilize the work from preceding acting courses and will understand its connection to classical performance. The work will culminate in monologue, sonnet, or scene work. F
