Description:
The course will emphasize planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction of social studies at the secondary level. Students will integrate pedagogical theory and practice by developing curricular materials, lesson plans, and presentation strategies. Attention will be given to teaching students to use technology for research, analysis, and presentation. The course will cover the ten NCSS standards and the theory and methodology for instructing all social studies disciplines. Prerequisites: EDUC 320, EDUC 329, EDUC 351, and 18 hours of history at 300 level. Corequisite: EDUC 429.Three semester hours.
