Description:
An introduction to the basics of air pollution science. Course begins with a summary of underlying meteorology and atmospheric physics and then covers the atmospheric radiation budget, atmospheric circulation, aerosols, atmospheric chemistry (acid rain, ozone hole), short-term atmospheric change, atmospheric chemical models and air quality. Lecture four hours per week. NOTE: A student may not receive credit for both PHYS 105 and PHYS 456.
