HONS 120 - Honors Colloquium in Western Civilization

Description:
This year-long colloquium is an intensive interdisciplinary study which relates the arts, literature, and philosophy of the Western world to their political, social, and economic contexts. HONS 120 examines the development of Western civilization from its origins in the ancient Near East through the Renaissance and Reformation. HONS 130 examines developments from the scientific revolution to the contemporary world. NOTE: HONS 120 and 130 together satisfy the general education requirement in history; each also counts three hours toward the satisfaction of the general education requirement in humanities. HONS 120 replaces the requirement for HIST 101.
