Reading and discussion of selected literary works with emphasis on their relationship to Brazilian civilization and culture. Through the readings, students will develop an awareness and understanding of how Brazil's ethnic and social background as well as its thought and customs have contributed to the rich diversity of Brazilian civilization and culture as seen in its literature. NOTE: Taught in English. May be taken for credit toward the general education requirement in humanities.
